Job Summary
Food Expeditor helps keep the kitchen moving and guests happy by acting as the communication hub between kitchen and front-of-house. Responsibilities include ensuring efficient flow of orders, prioritizing and monitoring ticket times, assisting with final plate preparation and garnishing, verifying food accuracy, presentation, and temperature, delivering food as needed, removing obstacles to speed service, maintaining sanitation, relaying guest requests between dining room and kitchen, resolving guest concerns quickly and professionally, and assisting with phone orders and general restaurant support. Requires strong communication and teamwork, ability to lift heavy trays and stand long periods, and a high school diploma or equivalent with an available Food Handler Certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Previous experience as a Food Expeditor or in a restaurant role preferred
- Understanding of restaurant health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Ability to lift and carry heavy trays and stand for extended periods
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Guest-focused mindset with a positive attitude
