Job Summary
Food Demo Contractor for Restaurant Depot location in St. Louis, MO. Responsibilities include greeting customers, answering product questions, setting up and organizing demonstration tables, preparing vendor products for display via Demonstration POS, serving samples, explaining product attributes, and maintaining a professional appearance and clean, safe work environment. Also responsible for merchandising products, coordinating with department managers for product displays, completing a demo recap form in Excel, and reporting time worked and sales results. Demos are four hours with one hour setup and about 30 minutes breakdown; demos pay a flat $260 with an additional merchandising rate of $150 for 4 hours. Demonstrations take place at Restaurant Depot in St. Louis; contractors must have a smartphone for the merchandising app and hold or obtain a ServSafe certificate. This is an Independent Contractor role with no affiliation to Restaurant Depot, and Affinity Group acts as the employer of record.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must hold or be willing to attain a valid ServSafe certificate
- Must own a computer and have internet access
- Must have a smartphone with the ability to take and send pictures
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to read and interpret safety rules and operation manuals
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Prior food service experience a plus
