Food Court Cook - Part Time ($1,000 Hiring Incentive)

Job Summary
Communicate with team members regarding menu availability and prepare all food items following established recipes and standards. Ensure team members clean their stations while maintaining proper cooking methods, temperatures, and sanitation for all prepared food and leftovers. Cross-train department staff, assist Sous Chefs and Cook III with kitchen operations, and control waste during rush periods. Complete station checklists and par sheets one hour prior to shift completion. Recognize and correct product discrepancies in quality and specifications. Work independently, manage varied shifts including weekends and holidays, and respond calmly to employee conflicts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years previous experience in culinary cooking/preparation
- excellent leadership and customer service/communication skills
- knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment
- ability to work any day of the week and any shift, including holidays and weekends
- well-groomed appearance
- 18 years of age or older
- ability to obtain, and maintain a Non-Gaming License with the Ohio Lottery Commission
- ability to work independently
- ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours)
- ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts
- ability to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator
- ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel
- ability to respond to visual and aural cues
- manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment
- ability to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights
- ability to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed
- ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives
- ability to speak distinctly and persuasively
- ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
