Job Summary
Conduct lobby bar operations by supervising staff, managing daily schedules, and ensuring strict adherence to service standards and cleanliness protocols. Anticipate guest needs, resolve complaints, and maintain positive relations while overseeing equipment, inventory, and bar set-ups. Direct staff in service and breakdown procedures, coordinate breaks, and complete closing duties including payroll, tip distribution, and maintenance requests. Monitor performance, conduct pre-shift meetings, and provide feedback to management.
Required Qualifications
- Meets age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages
- Previous Food and Beverage experience in a fast-pace and high volume restaurant
- Knowledge of various food service styles (i.e., French service, tableside flambé service, butler style service)
- Provide legible communication
- Compute basic arithmetic
- Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
- Prioritize and organize
- Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment
- Follow directions thoroughly
- Understand guest's service needs
- Works cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
- Works with minimal supervision
- Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data
- Ascertain departmental training needs and provide such training
- Direct performance of staff and follow up with corrections when needed
- Suggestively sell
- State food handler and RBS certification required
- High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate, some college
- Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service
Desired Qualifications
- Previous Culinary training is a plus
