Job Summary
Oversee guest service in dining areas and catering functions by directing buffet lines, supervising beverage service including alcohol, and verifying guest IDs. Assist the Management team with training, inventory, and special events while ensuring tableware replacement, banquet setup, and sanitation standards are maintained. Compute meal costs, present checks, accept payments, and relay orders to the kitchen via the P.O.S. system. Recognize visibly intoxicated guests and enforce company policies. Step in to provide service in any capacity, including serving, event setup, bartending, and expo. Maintain excellent attendance and ensure location equipment is clean and operable. Valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit required.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years' experience working in a supervisory capacity in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment or applicable education
- Ability to supervise the work of others
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner that focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Possess a valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations
- Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
- Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation, and product inventory
- Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
- Must be available to work events as scheduled per business need
