Food & Beverage Supervisor, Bar

Job Summary
Train workers in food preparation, service, sanitation, and safety procedures while supervising kitchen and dining area cleaning activities. Compile and balance cash receipts, control inventories of food, equipment, and liquor, and requisition supplies as needed. Resolve customer complaints regarding food service, greet and seat guests, present menus and wine lists, and schedule parties and reservations. Assign duties and workstations to team members, conduct supervisory activities such as creating work schedules, and perform personnel actions including hiring, firing, and providing orientation. Record production, operational, and personnel data on specified forms and develop equipment maintenance schedules. Work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in F&B
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to understand and follow established guidelines and procedures
- Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
- Effectiveness at listening to, understanding, clarifying, and resolving the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
- Desire to serve all guests
- Age 18 years or older
- Willingness to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to arrive and clock in on time for every shift worked and clock out at the scheduled shift ending time
- Ability to clock in/out for breaks at the designated time on your schedule
- Ability to provide sufficient notice as directed by your supervisor when calling out for a scheduled shift
- Ability to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods of time
- Ability to move about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another
- Ability to make substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Ability to carry certain laundry supplies, linens and other items
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate with others effectively using the English language
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English
- Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, business letters, summaries, and reports in English
- Ability to speak effectively in English before groups such as customers or employees
- Ability to read and interpret business records and statistical reports in English
