Job Summary
Assist Chefs and the Food & Beverage Specialist III in training undergraduate students during lab sessions and executing advanced catered events on campus. Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety of all culinary and beverage lab environments, supplies, and equipment. Adhere to FIFO practices for receiving, storage, and inventory, while managing pickup and delivery of food and beverage products. Perform additional duties as assigned by the department head, chair, and dean to support operational excellence. Requires a valid Class E driver's license and 4+ years of relevant experience. Additional evening or weekend hours may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 4+ years of relevant experience
- valid Class E driver's license
- authorized to work for any U.S. employer
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience working in a fast-paced culinary, restaurant, or fast-food environment
- Experience assisting with training, mentoring, or guiding others in a food service or kitchen environment
- Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices
- Experience supporting catered events, banquets, or large-volume food preparation
- Previous experience working in a higher education food lab or similar setting
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new techniques and processes
- Effective collaboration within a team, with the ability to work independently when required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service–focused approach
