Job Summary
Greet guests warmly, take orders accurately, and deliver food and drinks to tables while clearing, resetting, and maintaining clean dining areas. Handle guest queries and complaints, process payments via POS systems, and manage cash and card transactions. Restock supplies, follow hygiene and safety procedures, communicate dietary needs to the kitchen, and complete daily cleaning checklists. Work a rotating 7-day schedule with shifts starting at 6:00am and finishing late at night in a part-time role at Novotel Wellington.
Required Qualifications
- NZ citizenship, permanent residency, or a current and valid work visa/permit
- Physically able to be on your feet for extended periods and lift/carry light trays or equipment
- Flexibility to work a rotating 7 day roster with shifts that may start as early as 6am or finish late at night
- Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in food and beverage, bar, barista or hotel service roles
- A friendly and professional attitude with a passion for hospitality and delivering great guest experiences
- Comfortable operating coffee machines or working behind a bar
- A team player who can adapt to a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Strong communication and time management skills
