Food and Nutrition Services Head Cook - 8 hrs/day (190 days/school year calendar)

Head Cook for Davenport Community School District's Food and Nutrition Services, 8 hours per day during the 190-day school year, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Responsibilities include preparing foods using standardized recipes and appropriate kitchen equipment, potentially developing new recipes, safely operating kitchen equipment, supervising food service personnel, preparing orders, cost control and stock rotation, sanitation and safety standards, assisting with menu planning and production records, coordinating catered functions, and maintaining good relations with students, parents, faculty, and the community. Requires a high school diploma or GED and ServSafe certification; physical ability to stand for extended periods, operate in warm environments, and lift at least 46 pounds; able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
