Job Summary
Catering Associate provides personalized meal service to hospitalized patients, assisting with bedside meal selections and dietary needs, recording patient selections in computer-based menu systems, and coordinating with nursing and dietitian staff. Responsibilities include meal delivery and tray assembly, stocking nourishment rooms, ensuring accuracy of diet prescriptions and calorie counts, and complying with HACCP and safety procedures. Requires proficiency with computer software (Meditech, Computrition, Word, Excel, Outlook), ability to learn basic diet knowledge, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work a 12-hour shift on-site.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, API, Meditech, Computrition
- Ability to learn basic diet knowledge and modify menus accordingly
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and excellent personalized service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diverse populations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience in food service or patient services preferred
- Understanding of dietary restrictions and modifications
- Ability to follow HACCP guidelines and safety procedures
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends/holidays as required
