Job Summary
Coordinate food service activities for the hotel and restaurant by estimating costs, planning menus, and managing inventory for dining, bar, and banquet operations. Directly supervise 1-5 subordinate supervisors overseeing 1-50 employees in the kitchen, bar, and banquet units while conducting product margin analysis and reviewing financial transactions to ensure budget adherence. Train staff on cash handling, safety, and guest service policies, and actively develop marketing programs based on local market data. Resolve food quality complaints and manage crises including guest disputes or safety incidents in accordance with Kinseth Hotel Corporation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university
- one to four years related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Franchise specific certification
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common financial reports
- Ability to read and implement safety policies and procedures
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community
- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
- Ability to effectively present information to customers, top management, public groups and/or boards of directors
- Must be able to communicate clearly in person, via telephone and in writing
- Ability to understand, interpret and manipulate accounting concepts such as general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, purchasing, night audit, cash handling and budget development / management
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, develop solutions and plan ahead
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical, formula or procedural form and deal with several abstract variables
- Must be able to handle a crisis in a calm, effective manner
