Job Summary
FOIA Analyst to manage end-to-end FOIA processing for a pending contract, including intake, tracking, assignment, acknowledgment, redactions, and disclosure preparation using FOIA tracking systems. Responsibilities include reviewing requests for sufficiency, scope, fee determinations, expedited processing eligibility, and fee waivers; coordinating searches with custodians and program offices; preparing responsive records, Vaughn indices, and related correspondence; conducting litigation-sensitive reviews and applying FOIA/PA exemptions; drafting letters and inter-agency communications; maintaining complete electronic case files; generating reports and supporting FOIA program administration and training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or relevant combination of education, training, certifications, and experience considered in lieu of degree
- Minimum of three (3) years of full-time FOIA support services or substantially similar FOIA-related functions
- Demonstrated ability to process, track, coordinate, review, administer, and manage FOIA requests in a federal or comparable environment
- Ability to interpret and apply federal statutes, regulations, agency policies, and FOIA guidance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic records management systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
