Job Summary
Support the National Park Service (NPS) as a FOIA Analyst by processing and responding to FOIA requests. Responsibilities include monitoring FOIAXpress and email for new requests, coordinating with custodians to identify responsive records, analyzing records for applicability of FOIA exemptions, redacting sensitive information, drafting response letters, and maintaining case files. The position requires strong writing and communication skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of FOIA exemptions, alongside proficiency in relevant software. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in FOIA processing.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of FOIA processing experience
- Strong understanding of FOIA exemptions (especially b(4), b(5), b(6))
- Strong understanding of Privacy Act
- Strong understanding of Section 508 accessibility requirements
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple requests under tight deadlines
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with FOIAXpress
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat
- Proficiency with eDiscovery tools
Additional Requirements
- Ability to obtain a National Agency Check (NAC/NACI)
