Job Summary
Provide comprehensive family medicine care including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic illnesses across the lifespan. Collaborate with nurses, midwives, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and maintain accurate medical records. Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and reproductive health options while participating in continuing medical education. Maintain current Basic Life Support certification and commit to acquiring unrestricted Texas, DPS, and DEA licenses. This role serves a diverse population at a rural health clinic in Athens, Texas, within a Federally Qualified Health Center network offering loan repayment opportunities for eligible professionals.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the United States
- Demonstrated experience in both family medicine and internal medicine
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current or committed to acquire unrestricted Texas license (TSBME) and unrestricted DPS and DEA licenses
