Job Summary
Create beautiful floral arrangements to customer specifications, process FTD and Teleflora orders, and fulfill complex requests for weddings and funerals on time. Clean, cut, and wrap flowers appropriately while maintaining inventory freshness and replacing damaged product daily. Lead floral clerks by training them on design procedures and daily tasks, instructing others to maintain standards and coordinate department activities. Operate as a lead in the absence of management, order supplies, and decorate in-store events. Greet customers warmly, counsel them on plant care, and answer phones promptly. Unload trucks, replenish merchandise, and pitch in with special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years of similar or related work experience
- Ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation
- Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards
- Ability to follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all department and company guidelines
- Employment contingent upon the successful completion of a pre employment drug screen

- Ability to apply math skills including fractions, decimals, and percentages in day-to-day tasks
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers, team members, and vendors
- Three years of similar or related work experience preferred
