Job Summary
Create stylish floral and plant arrangements that appeal to customers while maintaining quality standards and store display protocols. Take orders in person, online, and by phone, then schedule and deliver arrangements to off-site locations. Prepare flowers for arrangement by clipping, hydrating, and feeding, and rotate stock to ensure freshness. Assist with building product displays for special events and holidays, order and receive inventory, and unload trucks while verifying invoices. Provide customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and utilizing suggestive selling initiatives to promote sales. Adhere to safety procedures, clean sales and back areas, and sanitize equipment. Work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays, with occasional travel for deliveries.
Required Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to use precision hand tools
- Ability to safely work with sharp objects such as knives, box cutters, etc.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and practice proper time management
- Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form with customers and partners
- Ability to occasionally travel to off-site locations to make floral deliveries
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor
- Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy
- Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus
- Continuously required to stand or walk
- Continuously required to use fine finger movements
- Continuously required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling
- Frequently required to talk and hear
- Frequently required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs
- Occasionally required to bend, kneel or squat
- Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 65 lbs
- Attendance at work is required
Desired Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of flowers, handling, and design techniques
- Unique design aesthetic pertaining to the arrangement of flowers
- Basic mathematical skills for the purpose of assessing inventory and ordering
