Job Summary
Maintain facility floor cleanliness and safety by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and refinishing various surfaces. Operate and maintain floor care equipment such as auto-scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and riding scrubbers while performing carpet and upholstery cleaning. Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and handling chemicals according to guidelines, and report equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to management. This Full-Time position at Superior Maintenance Co. in Elizabethtown, KY, requires lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for 6 to 8 hours per shift.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to operate floor cleaning equipment such as scrubbers, buffers, and burnishers
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills related to cleaning equipment
- Ability to use two-way radio communication when required
- Must have a reliable smartphone as a condition of employment for timekeeping, employee portal access, and company communications
- Ability to read and understand basic written instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using standard units of measurement
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple written or verbal instructions
- Ability to lift between 35 and 50 pounds and push or pull loads ranging from 35 to 75 pounds
- Must be able to stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours per shift
- Must be able to frequently stoop, kneel, crawl, and bend during cleaning operations
