Job Summary
Full-time Floor Technician/Porter responsible for maintaining floors across common areas (carpet, ceramic tile), stripping wax, buffing, and operating floor equipment. Role includes inventory assistance, coordinating with housekeeping for annual cleanings, ensuring safety and cleanliness of the environment, and supporting department policies, safety training, and resident rights. Requires ability to read safety and maintenance documents, communicate effectively with residents and staff, and adapt to a schedule that includes early shift hours (7am–3pm) with every-other-weekend rotation. Experience in healthcare or apartment/rental settings and the capacity to handle physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs) are preferred. Must be able to observe infection control procedures and maintain professional appearance and punctuality.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of one year experience working in apartment/rental or healthcare environment preferred
- Doctor’s statement verifying free from communicable disease, if applicable to your state
- The ability to speak, read and comprehend English
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Good inter-department communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to be available for emergencies
- Interest in working with senior population
- Flexible hours as needed
