Job Summary
Sweep, dust mop, and damp mop floors; strip, seal, wax, burnish, and buff surfaces using low-speed, high-speed rotary, and ride-on machines. Mix and measure chemicals, operate scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, and extractors, and empty and clean equipment after use. Move furniture to access areas, remove trash, and perform preventative maintenance checks on all machinery. Comply with safety rules, uniform dress codes, and contract specifications while maintaining assigned zones. Work Monday through Friday from 3:30pm to 12:00am at a rate of $21.40. This role is part of the Ability One Program, providing employment for individuals with disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to stand or walk continuously for long periods of time
- Ability to go up and down stairs
- Ability to reach above the head, bend, kneel, stoop
- Ability to operate controls
- Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs. regularly and 75 – 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to work in dusty spaces or adverse weather conditions
- Ability to see details on the floor or on surfaces
- Ability to work with limited direct supervision
- Ability to follow directions and focus on tasks
- Able to follow a detailed floor maintenance program
- Ability to report problems or relate information
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and with safety always in mind
- Ability to understand and comply with safety procedures and environmental requirements
- Ability to operate machinery without posing a safety hazard to self or others
- Ability to use and care for equipment and cleaning supplies properly
- Ability to mix chemicals properly
- Ability to notice and report changes in work space conditions
- Ability to notify supervisor equipment or supplies are needed to perform task
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to attend work regularly according to assigned schedule and company policies

Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Floor Technician training desired
- Knowledge of floor finishes, applications, and removals
- Knowledge of floor care equipment
- Six months of Floor Technician experience preferred
- Six months of Custodial experience
- Candidates with disabilities preferred
