Job Summary
Conduct routine floor care including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming. Operate and maintain floor-care equipment such as buffers, burnishers, auto-scrubbers, extractors, and stripping machines. Strip, wax, seal, and refinish hard-surface floors while cleaning and extracting carpets using hot-water extraction or bonnet methods. Follow safety procedures, inspect floors for damage or stains, and report issues to supervisors. Maintain equipment in good working condition and ensure all work areas are left clean, organized, and hazard-free. Assist with general housekeeping duties as needed. This part-time role operates on the third shift, Monday through Friday from 6pm to 12am, reporting to a Job Supervisor at AK Building Services.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to operate floor-care machinery safely
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper usage
- Physical ability to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
- Reliability and strong work ethic
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Work in environments that may require kneeling, reaching, or repetitive motion
- 3rd Shift, Monday - Friday 6pm to 12am
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Experience in janitorial, custodial, or floor-care work
