Floor Technician - 1st Shift

Job Summary
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming healthcare environment through specialized floor care, including stripping, waxing, scrubbing, and buffing various floor types. Perform waste removal duties involving infectious and hazardous waste, sharps disposal, trash and recycling, and linen transport. Clean interior and exterior windows and glass surfaces to ensure exceptional clarity. Operate commercial cleaning equipment such as auto-scrubbers, pressure washers, and extension ladders while strictly adhering to infection control protocols, safety standards, and HIPAA guidelines. Prioritize work efficiently to meet department timelines and complete mandatory educational requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED Equivalent
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Ability to follow standard work, standard cleaning, and disinfecting procedures
- Ability to use commercial cleaning products and chemicals
- Ability to use commercial cleaning equipment including auto-scrubbers and floor machines, squeegees, water fed poles, pressure washers and extension ladders
- Ability to complete mandatory educational requirements of Winona Health caregivers
- Ability to keep an open mind and demonstrate a willingness to learn new methods, procedures, and techniques that embrace change
- Ability to understand, support and integrate the organization's vision/mission/values
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to all patients, residents, customers and co-workers
- Ability to anticipate the needs and wants of those we serve
- Ability to complete documentation as required
- Ability to prioritize and organize work efficiently to meet department timelines
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Ability to handle infectious and hazardous waste, proper sharps disposal, removal of trash and recycling materials, and transportation of linens to designated locations
