Job Summary
Operate designated floor equipment including auto-scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, and carpet extractors to scrub, shampoo, wax, and polish floors daily. Utilize industrial floor care tools for maintenance, restorative processes, and cleaning identified areas with required disinfecting solutions. Clean, sweep, vacuum, and assist with resident wheelchair disinfecting while removing trash and moving furniture. Promptly report maintenance problems and adhere to safety and infection control procedures to ensure sanitary conditions. Maintain clean equipment and work areas.
Required Qualifications
- High School education or GED
- Able to operate floor care equipment, such as buffers, burnishers, "wet vac" and auto scrubbers
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a long- term care setting preferred
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to read and write such as to be able to read labels on cleaning and detergent materials, disinfecting solutions
- Ability to operate large powered vacuum cleaners, cleaning and buffing equipment
- Ability to interact and/or work with staff members, family members, and visitors in a respectful and courteous manner
- Ability to lift carry or otherwise move and position objects and materials weighing up to 50lbs
- Ability to stand, walk or otherwise move about the facility on a continuous basis
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a long- term care setting preferred
