Job Summary
Monitor patients continuously to ensure safety and compliance with program protocols, assessing acuity and vital signs while relaying critical information to physicians. Place orders for toxicology and blood analysis labs, receive results, and communicate findings to medical staff. Dispense medications as needed, screen admissions for appropriateness, and respond to medical emergencies by obtaining physician orders. Supervise patient monitoring stations, delegate tasks to other staff, and assist with Licensed Practical Nurses. Monitor on-site narcotics to prevent theft or abuse and lead patient community meetings when the Patient Engagement Specialist is unavailable.
Required Qualifications
- AA or higher in Nursing
- Active state Registered Nursing or Licensed Practical Nursing License
- Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Certification in First Aid
- Commitment to drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use
- Authorization to work in the US
Desired Qualifications
- BA/BS or higher
- 2+ years of prior experience in psychiatric nursing
- 2+ years of experience in a managerial role
- Chemical Dependency Treatment experience
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Personal passion or interest in substance abuse issues
- Openness to occasionally working extra shifts and demonstrating schedule flexibility
- Confidence in making prompt, effective decisions that positively impact patient care
- Independence and self-reliance, with the ability to work effectively without continuous supervision or guidance
- Enthusiasm for engaging with patients and colleagues, as well as working collaboratively as part of a team
