Job Summary
Take full ownership of the floor during service, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high guest experience standards. Lead and direct the front of house team, managing pace, priorities, and service flow while providing real-time coaching. Run pre-service briefings, coordinate between kitchen, bar, and FOH teams, and support opening and closing procedures. Drive upselling opportunities, manage labour deployment, and handle accurate cash and stock control. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations while resolving guest issues proactively. Collaborate closely with Assistant and Restaurant Managers to uphold a positive, inclusive culture and represent the values of Birchwood, The Conduit, and Levy.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a supervisory or floor management role
- Strong understanding of restaurant service and operations
- Confident leading a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proven experience as a Floor Manager, or FOH lead in a high end or high volume restaurant
- Confident and positive approach to customer service
- Good understanding of service flow around theatre or timed dining experiences
- Good understanding reservation and booking systems (e.g SevenRooms)
- A collaborative spirit, willing to lead, support, and work closely with the team
- Confident and decisive leader
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Calm and solutions-focused under pressure
- Highly present and engaged on the floor
- Positive, proactive and team-oriented
- A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to excellence at every level
Desired Qualifications
- Interest in modern British food, wine, and cocktails; WSET Level 1 or similar is a bonus
