Job Summary

Maintain a clean and sanitary environment by employing proper techniques for floor care, including cleaning, buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning. Operate and maintain all floor cleaning and finishing equipment, such as buffers, burnishers, and water extraction machines, while adhering to safety precautions for all facility areas. Prepare setups with tables, chairs, and tablecloths, and handle emergencies involving liquid spills, slips, or exposure to body fluids. Perform custodial duties as required and communicate any problems to the immediate supervisor. This role involves standing and walking for extended periods, lifting over 35 lbs, and pushing heavy equipment in a moderate noise environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Three months of cleaning experience
  • Must be capable of communicating any problems to the immediate supervisor
  • Must have prior related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift more than 35 lbs
  • Must be able to push heavy equipment, including cleaning station supplies, vacuum cleaners, floor stripping equipment, trash cans, and water buckets
  • Must be able to operate and maintain all floor cleaning and finishing equipment, including but not limited to floor buffers, burnishers, water extraction machines, and carpet cleaning equipment
  • Customer Service - Responds promptly to customer needs and requests for service and assistance
  • Oral Communication - Listens attentively and requests clarification when needed
  • Safety - Observes safety procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions, and uses equipment and materials properly
  • Adaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment
  • Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently punctual and at work on time
  • Dependability - Follows instructions and responds to the supervisor's direction
  • Initiative - Volunteers readily; Asks for and offers help when needed
  • Ability to handle emergencies, including liquid spills, slips, and exposure to body fluids
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
