Job Summary
The Floor Care Associate performs day-to-day housekeeping duties in a retirement-community setting, focusing on floor care in resident living and recreational areas. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining floors and baseboards (disinfecting, sweeping, wet mopping, waxing, buffing), carpet care (vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, disinfecting), stain/spot cleanup, inventory management of floor-care supplies, dusting of furniture and fixtures, waste-bin maintenance, and ensuring work areas and equipment are in good order. Reports damage or needed repairs to facilities, participates in meetings and trainings, and supports care delivery by listening to resident, client, and staff needs while upholding resident rights. Position requires coordinating with nursing staff during routine floor-care tasks, adherence to standards and regulations, and availability to work in weekends/evenings as scheduled. Education required is a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for one year of housekeeping experience and knowledge of appropriate cleaning materials and equipment for various floor types. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English; lifting up to 50 pounds and standing/walking for extended periods are expected. Location noted: Ohio Living Westminster-Thurber, United States (Ohio).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1 year experience in housekeeping preferred
- Knowledge with care of various types of floors and the respective appropriate cleaning materials and equipment to use preferred
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
