Job Summary
Stock guest rooms with linens, towels, and supplies; fulfill requests for pillows, furniture, and equipment in a timely fashion. Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and disinfect dining areas, meeting rooms, and public spaces while removing stains and trash. Deliver firewood to guest rooms, document deliveries, and write maintenance requests for repairs. Operate cleaning machinery, perform minor preventative maintenance on equipment, and maintain appropriate supply levels. Protect hotel property by reporting damage or missing items and return all equipment to storage areas. Respond quickly to guest requests and cleanup reports, communicate with supervisors when unable to fulfill requests directly, and sign out keys. Wear proper personal protective equipment and adhere to dress standards while maintaining composure under pressure. Maintain a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- At least 21 years of age, or 20 years of age with at least two years of licensed driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist and carry a distance of up to 25 feet with/without assistance
- Ability to walk up to 7 miles per day
- Ability to maneuver carts or dollies safely with loads up to 200 pounds
- Ability to stand for up to 5 hours at a time
- Ability to reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, stoop, twist and flex arms
- Ability to walk up and down stairs/inclines
- Ability to sit, climb up/down ladders
- Ability to see close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to hear verbal instructions, directions and warnings
- Ability to speak, read and write the English language
- Ability to communicate in a clear and congenial manner
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule including days/nights, weekdays/weekends, holidays, and during peak periods of business
- Ability to work productively and efficiently with or without supervision
- Ability to answer guest questions with accurate information
- Ability to demonstrate a friendly and helpful personality by smiling, eye contact, initiating conversation and engaging with others
- Ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment as prescribed by cleaning agent or in accordance with our Mohonk Mountain House Standards and Protocols
- Ability to adhere to Mohonk Mountain House's Dress and Grooming Standards
- Ability to learn and successfully demonstrate the Mohonk Mountain House Service Steps with Service Strategies with guests and staff
- Ability to learn and retain knowledge of historical facts and information about Mohonk Mountain House
