Job Summary
First Shift Assembler responsible for disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of large industrial gearbox units. Perform visual and dimensional inspections, use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, torque tools) to verify tolerances, follow SOPs and repair manuals, document findings, and assist in root-cause evaluation. Operate overhead cranes and other material-handling equipment safely; maintain documentation in work orders and digital systems; comply with ISO, safety, and 5S standards; collaborate with team to meet production schedules and support continuous improvement. Preferred experience with industrial gearboxes or rotating equipment and crane/forklift certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance, or heavy equipment repair (gearbox experience preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and build documentation
- Proficiency with mechanical hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- Ability to safely lift and handle heavy components with mechanical assistance
- Basic computer skills for entering work order data
