Job Summary
Perform floor cleaning and maintenance, general custodial cleaning of the building, and minor maintenance requests to support residents and employees. Tasks include cleaning assigned areas inside and outside, responding to emergency clean-ups, and performing project cleaning (walls, ceilings, vents, light fixtures, windows). Maintain floors via sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, waxing, vacuuming, extraction, hosting, and buffing with specialized equipment as needed. Move furniture, remove trash, replace liners, and participate in linen program (distributing, collecting, and preparing for pickup). Assist with inventory and supply stocking; report repairs to facilities, furniture, or fixtures. Maintain cleaning equipment and observe safety policies. Prefer experience with floors/surfaces and effective English communication. Physical requirements include constant mobility and ability to lift up to 100 lbs, exposure to weather and cleaning chemicals; background in caring for older adults is desirable. This is a full-time role with compensation in the posted range and a benefits package for eligible employees.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- Housekeeping and/or general maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) with residents and staff
- Dependability and common sense; ability to organize daily cleaning schedule
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; work with limited supervision
- Physical ability: constant mobility; ability to lift up to 100 lbs; routine use of ladders and floor equipment
- Interest in working with older adults is desired
