Job Summary
Assist the doctor with medical procedures, including surgery, under direct supervision by performing pre-anesthetic protocols, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative care. Provide high-quality care to all pets in the hospital's care while delivering excellent customer service to clients. Manage medical records through practice management software, dispense medication, perform x-rays, blood draws, and catheter placements. Set up, breakdown, and maintain medical equipment, assisting with cleaning all areas of the hospital. This role requires flexibility for 4–10-hour shifts and the ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Be a certified veterinary technician
- Associate degree in veterinary assisting
- Comfortable interacting with furry, fuzzy, feathered, and scaly friends
- Have strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Be able to lift at least 40 pounds
