Job Summary
Provide substitute coverage for multiple classrooms when teachers are out sick, taking breaks, or completing planning time. Assist classroom teachers with opening and closing routines, including sanitizing rooms, wiping toys, vacuuming, and preparing materials for lessons. Support daily activities by engaging students in free play, supervising outdoor time, helping with diapering and naptime, and managing snack and lunch periods. Maintain cleanliness throughout the school by cleaning staff kitchens, bathrooms, and lobbies, emptying trash, and organizing nap mats. Establish positive relationships with students and parents while adhering to the daily schedule and encouraging age-appropriate interactive participation. Maintain required professional development hours and attend monthly staff meetings.
Required Qualifications
- EEC Teacher Certification, CDA, or equivalent degree and experience
- Daycare experience in a center-based or private school setting
- An engaging and energetic demeanor and a love for helping young children meet and exceed their developmental goals
- Availability to work Monday through Friday with flexibility to work between 6:30 am and 5:30 pm
- Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
- Attentiveness, strong time management, and a team-focused mindset
