Job Summary
Senior Community Manager will be assigned to Northland communities across the portfolio, traveling to and working on-site at assigned locations for 3 to 18 months to drive execution of the business plan. Responsibilities include leading and developing on-site teams, overseeing leasing activity and occupancy, ensuring compliance with policies and Fair Housing laws, representing the organization to residents and stakeholders, and adapting strategies to improve operations, resident satisfaction, and financial performance. The role requires flexible, floating assignments, frequent transitions across markets, and the ability to manage operations, budgets, reporting, and risk management within multifamily properties. Qualifications emphasize 5+ years in multifamily management, extensive travel, proficiency with Yardi and MS Office, strong supervision, marketing/leasing skills, independent decision-making, and prioritization under varying workloads.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of multifamily management experience, including direct supervision of employees and external contractors
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively and reside temporarily at assigned communities for extended periods (typically 3 to 18 months) to support business objectives
- Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize a variety of systems, including Microsoft Office, Yardi, and other relevant property management applications
- Ability to effectively advertise, market, lease, and promote Northland and its communities across diverse markets and audiences
- Strong supervisory skills in overseeing employees and contract service providers
- Ability to frequently walk the community to oversee all activities and areas of operation
- Strong judgment and critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently
- Ability to set and revise priorities based on workload and business needs
