Job Summary
Floating Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and supports patient flow and data entry across multiple locations. Responsibilities include entering patient intake and provider orders into the EMR, requesting medical records, recording vitals and medical history, explaining procedures, dispensing educational materials, relaying provider orders, preparing and maintaining examination rooms and ultrasound equipment, drawing injections, obtaining prior-authorizations for radiology and prescriptions, keeping the clinical area stocked and clean, and maintaining HIPAA and infection control compliance. The role requires strong customer service and communication skills, teamwork, ability to multi-task, attention to detail, proficiency with basic Microsoft Office tools, and flexibility to travel up to 100% to various company locations. Preferred qualifications include Nurse Aide/Medical Assistant/EMS training with valid certification or licensure and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, the public
- Ability to work individually and in a team
