Floating Medical Assistant and Patient Services Representative

Job Summary

Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain medical histories, and measure vital signs while assisting physicians with examinations, treatments, and wound care. Clean and sterilize instruments per infection control standards, document patient information in the EMR, and educate patients on medications and post-procedure instructions. Welcome visitors, answer phone calls, schedule appointments, verify insurance, process check-ins, and collect copayments. Coordinate patient care, obtain referrals, and respond appropriately to urgent situations. Travel daily between Oak Brook, Naperville, Elgin, and Schaumburg clinics based on physician schedules. Primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient or ambulatory setting
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Willingness to travel between assigned clinic locations
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in a podiatry, orthopedic, surgical, or multispecialty practice
  • Experience with insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations
  • Excellent communication, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and positive relationships with patients, providers, and team members
  • Ability to respond appropriately during medical emergencies
