Job Summary
Check out materials, process fines, and issue library cards to patrons while answering inquiries and assisting with catalog services. Transport books from drops, sort items by classification and repair needs, and prepare new materials for circulation. Handle interlibrary loan requests, design exhibits, and support library programs in a home-based role that may require rotating to other Southern Oklahoma Library System locations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Six months to one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to respond effectively to customer and/or supervisors questions
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ethical reasoning skills
- Competent basic level of keyboarding skills
- Willingness to attend necessary SEPLSO trainings
- Ability to regularly talk or hear
- Ability to frequently sit and use hand and fingers to handle or feel
- Ability to occasionally walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Close vision
- Ability to adjust focus
