Job Summary
Floating Early Childhood Director to lead and coordinate multi-site early childhood programs in the Washington, DC area. Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day center operations, staff scheduling and supervision, ensuring compliance with state/local licensing, developing and evaluating curricula, mentoring teaching staff, and promoting a positive public image to families. The role requires collaboration across departments to maintain mission-aligned, high-quality programming and requires daily on-site presence with travel within the DC area. Qualifications include a Master’s degree in early childhood education or related field (preferred with administration/leadership credits), a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and at least 3 years of director-level experience, with strong leadership, interpersonal, and program development skills. Required Qualifications
- Bachelors in Early Childhood Education, Education Administration or a related field required
- Masters in Early Childhood Education, Education Administration or related field with credits in administration, leadership, and management or equivalent preferred
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience at director level or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated leadership in early childhood education including support and development of early childhood curriculum
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Outstanding interpersonal, coaching and listening skills with the ability to communicate within all levels of the organization
- A strong desire to create a community within the school’s staff and families
- The ability to mentor and inspire teaching staff
