Float School Nurse RN-Full-Time During School Year

Job Summary
Provide quality triage, treatment, and first aid to students who are ill or injured while maintaining accurate documentation per Indiana State Board of Health standards. Administer safe medications using two patient identifiers, assess vital signs, and create individualized healthcare plans when student health warrants. Float to different schools or events for short- or long-term needs to minimize student absence and support school nursing departments. Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by utilizing supplies efficiently and completing scheduled education. Maintain competency by subbing on a routine basis and participate in professional organization activities or conferences. Ensure mandated immunizations and testing are complete and documented annually while providing student and parent education when indicated. Day Shift; 28.4 weekly hours.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with an Associate in Nursing Degree
- Current licensure by the Indiana State Board of Nurses' Registration and Nursing Education as an active Registered Nurse
- BLS certification
- Computer skills
- Minimum of two years' experience in health field relating to school age children
- Previous experience in school nursing
- 5 years of hire date
- Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN)
- Area specific education
