Job Summary
Assess residents' health status and educational needs on admission and ongoing, documenting all findings. Develop and revise dynamic care plans through an interdisciplinary approach, communicating changes to physicians, families, and staff using SBARR. Administer medications, treatments, and IV fluids safely while monitoring residents for behavioral changes or untoward symptoms. Assist with activities of daily living, answer call lights, and use the QAPI process to resolve problem areas. Maintain composure during crises and adhere to Bethesda policies while completing required nursing education offerings.
Required Qualifications
- Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a Registered Nurse
- Current RN license in Missouri & Illinois
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Long-term care and rehab experience
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel and work at all Bethesda communities
- Critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with patients, visitors, and staff
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance as necessary
- Ability to transfer and move patients who vary with ability to assist weighing 200+lbs using proper lifting techniques and with assistance as necessary
- Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance as necessary
- Manual dexterity, coordination, and skillful use of hands when working with patients and equipment, which may include pushing buttons, adjusting dials, turning on/off switches, buckling, holding and positioning limbs/body parts, etc
- Visual acuity with the ability to distinguish color
- Ability to physically perform necessary documentation electronically and in writing
