Job Summary
Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to in-patients and out-patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. Monitor and wean oxygen therapy, manage artificial ventilation, draw and analyze arterial blood gases, and deliver intermittent therapy as ordered by a physician. Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures, including changing artificial airways, while reviewing and documenting all clinical information for each patient encounter. Educate patients and the healthcare team on procedures and treatment plans, adapting communication styles to specific patient populations. Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards to ensure compliance with all regulations and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in respiratory therapy
- 2 years respiratory therapy experience
- Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
- Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 90 days of hire
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Very Heavy Work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Individuals who reside in and will work from Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington D.C. are not eligible for remote work position
