Job Summary
Phlebotomist/Processor responsible for venipuncture, specimen handling, and data-entry in a clinical laboratory setting across multiple sites. Duties include performing venipuncture for blood collection, preparing specimens for lab testing, verifying specimen information, receiving and packaging samples for referral labs, and maintaining specimen integrity. Must follow safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules, and participate in quality assurance. Flexibility to cover shifts at different sites; strong emphasis on customer-service, professional patient interaction, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of phlebotomy experience (or two terms of coursework plus six months hands-on experience); stable work history preferred. Interpath Laboratory operates across multiple locations in the Pacific Northwest and Midwest with a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year of on-the-job phlebotomy experience, or completion of two terms of phlebotomy coursework plus six months of hands-on experience
- Stable work history strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills; ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients and team members
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Experience with data entry and specimen handling in a clinical laboratory setting
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Medicare rules, and QA practices
