Float Phlebotomist

Job Summary
Perform blood collections via venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, including drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests. Process billing information, collect payments, and enter patient data accurately while maintaining specimen and patient logs. Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis, and provide superior customer service to all patients. Travel to additional sites within a 40-mile radius of Mesquite, TX as needed, maintaining reliable transportation. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain vast experience across various clinics and patient populations, with flexibility to work overtime and rotating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Will cover sites in Mesquite, TX and surrounding areas (approximate 40 + mile radius)
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Exceptional customer service
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications
- 2 or more years' phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment
- 1 or more years' experience assisting all patient age groups (pediatric - geriatric)
- Current or prior LabCorp experience
- Ability to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
