Job Summary
Medical Scribe role supporting primary care providers with clinical documentation to enable focus on patient care. Responsibilities include observing and documenting patient encounters in real time, producing structured notes with history, assessment, plan and physical exam, assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes, preparing After Visit Summaries, reviewing medical records, and supporting Clinical Documentation Improvement and administrative tasks. Requires knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare workflows, and compliance with HIPAA; in-person schedule around 40-45 hours per week; relevant experience or exposure through pre-med studies or clinical shadowing; bilingual or multilingual capabilities in communities served (Spanish, Polish, Russian) are noted as applicable. The position emphasizes paid, practical clinical experience in a hospital or clinic setting with opportunities for growth and advancement within Oak Street Health. Anticipated weekly hours: 40; pay range: $17.00 - $28.46 per hour; eligible for CVS Health bonuses. Required Qualifications
- US work authorization
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to type 70+ wpm (preferred)
- Ability to commit to at least 1 year in role (2+ is ideal)
- Ability to work approximately 40-45 hours per week during clinic hours (full time)
- HIPAA compliance (required)
