Job Summary
Float Health Services Specialist I at Hayward Health Center (Hayward, CA). Full-time role with travel to Oakland, Tracy, Manteca, Eastland Plaza (Stockton), North Stockton, and Modesto. Responsible for direct clinical services in health centers including sexual and reproductive health and abortion, patient information regarding Planned Parenthood services, achieving productivity goals, and accurate documentation of financial, medical, and social history. Performs front office tasks (check-in/check-out, scheduling, billing, insurance info), enters data into EPM, handles referrals and authorization, conducts lab testing (pregnancy tests, STI/HIV, phlebotomy), prepares exam rooms, assists in exams, collects payments and donations, and follows PPMM workplace values and policies. Requires ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, proficiency with Windows-based software, and flexibility to work across multiple locations and variable hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to communicate sensitive information across diverse backgrounds (verbal and written)
- General knowledge of Windows-based computer applications and willingness to learn new computer skills
- Ability to work in a busy environment with multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and respect for patients and staff
- Satisfactory completion of an initial health screening within 10 days of first date of employment
- Completes all HSS I training requirements within first year of employment
- No active performance issues at time of promotion to HSS II
- Able to work nights and weekends as required
- Able to work at a variety of PPMM locations
