Job Summary
Provide safe, comprehensive care to critically ill or injured patients in the pre-hospital setting and during inter-facility transport. Perform specialized assessments, diagnoses, therapies, and emergency treatment for patients on rotor-wing, fixed-wing, and ground units. Document accurate assessment, treatment, and billing information while maintaining effective communication with management and external customers. Participate in PR and marketing activities, attend mandatory meetings, and complete annual competency requirements. Maintain active paramedic certification and required licenses under the supervision of the Base Medical Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Active paramedic certification in the state employed
- Minimum of three years current Paramedic field experience in a busy 911/pre-hospital service
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current PALS/PEPP certification
- Current PHTLS/ITLS certification
- Must successfully complete the PHI Air Medical Group education/orientation program
- Effective human relations skills required for interfacing with all levels of personnel and external customers
- Must possess basic computer skills for e-mail, electronic charting, etc.
- Must be able to pass pre-placement physical exam including functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment, lift up to 100 pounds)
- Must maintain body weight below 235 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Five years preferred current Paramedic field experience in a busy 911/pre-hospital service
- NRP certification preferred
- Instructor certifications preferred
- FP-C within twenty-four months of hire
- Flight or transport experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field preferred
