Job Summary
Provide safe, comprehensive pre-hospital care and inter-facility transport for critically ill or injured patients using rotor-wing, fixed-wing, and ground vehicles. Perform complex assessments, diagnoses, therapies, and emergency treatments while documenting accurate clinical and billing information. Maintain effective communication with management, internal staff, and external customers, and participate in PR and marketing activities. Complete annual competency requirements, attend mandatory meetings and continuing education, and maintain active paramedic certification under the Medical Director's licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Active paramedic certification in the state employed
- Minimum of three years current Paramedic field experience in a busy 911/pre-hospital service
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current PALS/PEPP certification
- Current PHTLS/ITLS certification
- Must successfully complete the PHI Air Medical Group education/orientation program
- Effective human relations skills required for interfacing with all levels of personnel and external customers
- Must possess basic computer skills for e-mail, electronic charting, etc.
- Must be able to pass pre-placement physical exam including functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment, lift up to 100 pounds)
- Must maintain body weight below 235 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Five years preferred Paramedic field experience in a busy 911/pre-hospital service
- NRP certification preferred
- Instructor certifications preferred
- FP-C within twenty-four months of hire
- Flight or transport experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field preferred
