Job Summary
Provide safe, comprehensive care to critically ill and/or injured patients of all ages in the pre-hospital setting and during inter-facility transports. Perform specialized functions including complex assessments, diagnoses, therapies, and emergency treatment using rotor-wing, fixed-wing, and ground vehicles. Document accurate information for patient stabilization, transport billing, and maintain effective communication with management and external customers. Complete mandatory meetings, chart reviews, skill labs, and continuing education to maintain knowledge base and recurrent competency requirements. Maintain active paramedic certification and all other required certifications while functioning under the licensure of the Medical Director.
Required Qualifications
- Active paramedic certification in the state employed
- Minimum of three years current Paramedic field experience in a busy 911/pre-hospital service
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current PALS/PEPP certification
- Current PHTLS/ITLS certification
- Basic computer skills for e-mail, electronic charting, etc.
- Ability to pass pre-placement physical exam including functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment, lift up to 100 pounds)
- Ability to pass drug screening
- Ability to pass background screen
- Body weight below 235 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Five years preferred Paramedic field experience
- NRP certification
- Instructor certifications
- FP-C within twenty-four months of hire
- Flight or transport experience
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field
