Job Summary
Provide high-quality pre-hospital advanced life support from initial contact until patient transfer, including assessment, triage, treatment, and thorough documentation. Maintain competency in clinical and psychomotor skills through ongoing laboratory experiences and educational programs. Manage aircraft safety, equipment maintenance, and supply levels while assisting the pilot with pre-mission briefings and liftoff checklists. Serve as a clinical resource for neonatal and pediatric transport cases and participate in outreach marketing and departmental committees. Maintain licensure, certifications, and training records while adhering to Air Methods CBS Medical Director guidelines. Work a flexible schedule including overtime and 24/7 on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- At least three years' related experience and/or training
- Minimum three (3) years' recent experience in a busy 911 system
- Registered EMT-P licensed in state(s) served
- National Certification
- Specialty certification: (FP-C or CCP-C)
- Current certifications in Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR; ACLS; PALS or equivalent (AHA courses if state or county required) and advanced provider ITLS or PHTLS (if state or country required)
- Advance trauma course: one (1) of the following is acceptable: TNCC, ATLS/ATCN, TNATC or CAMTS-approved advanced trauma course
- NRP certification
- NIMS Training IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and HazMat
- Weight not to exceed 225 pounds including empty flight suit and boots
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime and 24/7 on-call rotation
- Regular scheduled attendance
- Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling: 5%
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health-related field preferred
- Previous critical care transport and flight experience a plus
