Job Summary
Conduct advanced critical care delivery for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients alongside the Flight Paramedic, assuming ultimate responsibility for all direct patient care per LFN protocols. Perform high-acuity clinical skills including chest tube insertion, surgical airways, intubation, intraosseous insertion, and central line placement. Manage equipment retrieval, cleaning, restocking, and inventory checks to return aircraft to service, while assisting the pilot with navigation and in-flight procedures. Provide patient follow-up to referring hospitals and compile statistical data for clinical operations projects. Enforce safety policies and contribute to business development plans to meet medical transport and financial performance goals.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of ICU/ED/Trauma experience within the last ten (10) years
- RN license as appropriate to assigned location
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Transport Professional Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC) certification
- CFRN exam must be taken within one year of hire
- Certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire
- Current, valid state issued driver's license
- At least three years of driving experience
- Maintenance of Airport Badge (where applicable)
- Passport and/or Entry into Canada may be required based on location assignment
- Complies with weight restrictions (maximum 250 pounds fully outfitted to perform the job)
- Ability to work varied shifts and cover fixed wing and/or ambulance call shifts
- Must have successfully completed the TPATC course prior to assuming independent duties
