Job Summary
Flight Nurse I provides advanced, autonomous medical care during air and ground transport, performing advanced life support, stabilization, airway management, and medication administration; responsible for equipment readiness, documentation, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure safe, high-quality transport for critically ill or injured patients; requires BSN and certification milestones, including CFRN within two years, with strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork in high-stress environments.
Required Qualifications
- State-certified Nurse with no restrictions, valid in area of operation.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and trauma care.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 120 days of hire.
- Demonstrated emergency room or critical care experience.
- Must obtain CFRN certification within two years of hire.
- Advanced certification in trauma care (e.g., TNATC, ATLS, PHTLS, TNCC) within one year of hire, or earlier if required by the state of operation.
- Strong critical thinking and autonomous decision-making abilities in emergency and high-stress situations.
- Expertise in patient care delivery, safety practices, and compassionate handling of critically ill patients.
- Effective communication and teamwork with diverse healthcare professionals and patient families.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (degree will be verified).
- Registered Nurses (RNs) hired or promoted into this role must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four years of their hire or promotion date. If there is an existing education agreement, that agreement will take precedence.
