Job Summary
Develop and maintain trajectory simulation tools using Python, MATLAB, or C++ to build and run simulations for next-generation entry systems. Design reentry trajectories, estimate landing zones, and define performance envelopes while owning the ΔV budget for missions. Work with aerodynamics, systems, propulsion, and GNC teams to model moments, coefficients, and vehicle envelopes, providing burn timing and attitude profiles for mission planning. Support actuator sizing and interface with operations, hardware, and external regulatory partners like the FAA and DGCA. Engage in multi-disciplinary vehicle systems investigations to motivate mission design and analysis methodologies. Requires 3+ years in trajectory analysis and orbital mechanics; hands-on experience with STK and GMAT is essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Aerospace Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in trajectory analysis, orbital mechanics, and modelling & simulation
- Strong understanding of orbital mechanics, flight dynamics, and reentry trajectories
- Experience with numerical simulation tools (Python, MATLAB, or C++)
- Hands-on experience with STK and GMAT
- Experience building or working with 6-DOF trajectory models
- Familiarity with aero databases and trajectory modelling
- Comfortable working across teams (Aero, Structures, GNC)
- Willingness to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
